Pre & Postnatal Classes

Yoga and Pilates during pregnancy increases muscle tone in the legs, back, arms as well as support the muscles of the pelvis, pelvic floor and transverse abdominals to assist labor. The exercises prevent leg cramps and varicose veins by allowing better circulation of your blood and lymphatic system as well as offering balanced flexibility with the ever changing hormones in the muscles, ligaments and joints. Our instructors understand the changes you are experiencing and can direct exercises to help alleviate discomforts and are trained to know what precautions to take as well as what exercises are most beneficial during pregnancy.
Post-natal benefits of these exercises help to stretch and strengthen chest and back muscles. The front of the body tends to get tight, especially with breast and bottle-feeding, and the back gets weak. Pilates and Yoga also strengthens the abs correctly so they can go back where they started and then some!!!


Mommy & Me Yoga - For babies age Birth-Crawling. Class emphasizes on yoga postures to help develop better sleeping and digestion patterns, helps to soothe fussy babies, promote motor development and bond with your baby. Please bring blanket and a toy or two for baby.
Mommy & Me Stroller & Interval Workout - For children age Birth-5 years old. Class focuses on a workout to help get your post-baby body into shape. Class includes a 2 mile walk with intervals of Yoga, Pilates and playtime with your child(ren). Please bring a stroller (required), blanket, water, and wraps (optional).


Prenatal/Mommy & Me Pilates- Prenatal expecting Mamas & Postnatal Mommies & Babies on Reformers and Mats, some other apparatus (such as rings, balls, Springboard, etc...)
Private Prenatal Yoga Sessions - Prerequisite to attend any Chakra Vinyasa Yoga class. Learn proper modifications and exercises that can be used throughout your pregnancy. Postures are designed to accommodate the pregnant woman’s rapidly changing body while fostering flexibility, strength and relaxation during pregnancy.
Prenatal & Labor Preparation Workshop - This two hour workshop teaches visualization and breathing techniques to increase relaxation and help prepare for labor as well as mediation to connect with baby during pregnancy. Yoga postures are used to help with common pregnancy symptoms and prepare body for labor by decreasing one's need to actively respond to unpleasant physical sensations and increasing endorphins and serotonin.
